After 10 wonderful years in New York City, I’ve decided to pack my doula bag and head to the West Coast! It has been an immense privilege to serve the women and families of New York City and to be a part of their pregnancy, birth and little baby’s lives. I bring to Los Angeles a love, appreciation and continued enthusiasm for supporting families through this journey.
To my wonderful NYC students and clients, thank you for allowing me into your lives and thank you for your friendship. I truly feel like I get the best clients around and I am so proud to have spent this time together.
I will continue to proudly serve on the Board of Directors for Choices in Childbirth, as they are a national nonprofit organization. I am so excited to expand the work of CiC to Los Angeles and further continue the mission of Great Births and Great Beginnings for all families.
Robyn Lazara, my incredible doula partner/business partner/best friend/birth confidante, has given me her blessing of love and support for my journey to Los Angeles. I started Lavender Labor and Birth Services on my own and bringing Robyn into the business the past year has been such a wonderful decision for both of us. Robyn and I chose to partner because we share, what we call, “the same brain” about birth. It’s that same brain that has helped us work together on fully supporting clients together and fully supporting each other in our journey as birth workers.
Robyn is continuing her own practice in NYC and Nassau County, Long Island. You can reach her at Robyn@birdsnestbirth.com and be sure to like her Facebook page (website is under construction.)
Becoming a birth worker has been the best thing to ever happen to me. I finally learned the meaning of, “if you love what you do, it never feels like work” and I couldn’t be more grateful.
Thank you, NYC families, and hello Los Angeles!
With love and lavender,
